TenMicron Ltd was set up to bring large commercial passenger ship engineering knowledge to the super yacht and larger industry. The founder of TenMicron, Simon, has been involved in passenger vessels for over 30 years, from sailing on board as an electrical engineer and moving through the on board engine ranks through to senior engineer positions, then moving shoreside to build large passenger vessels for Holland America Line and Cunard. Taking that sailing experience shore side was natural, and Simon quickly moved into cruise vessel operations after his new building time, working as Ship Manager, then into fleet operations where he commanded up to 15 of the world's largest cruise vessels operating internationally. After 10 or so years doing this, Simon then moved back into the new building and was a senior part of the team building the world's largest cruise ship.

TenMicron Ltd was the natural next step to bring the knowledge and expertise to the private and charter yacht industry. This industry is facing large regulatory challenges, as well as the pressure to decarbonise, both challenges Simon has been at the forefront of in his commercial professional history. TenMicron’s goal is to use this knowledge, expertise and experience to provide these complex technical, new build and regulatory challenges with proven solutions embedded in the commercial passenger ship industry.

Supported by other colleagues who have left the passenger ship industry, TenMicron is a powerhouse for the future of the superyacht industry. We remain independent so we can remain objective in our support for owners, operators and crew. Simon is actively involved day to day, and all clients of TenMicron can liaise directly at any time with him if they feel the need. TenMicron Ltd team is extremely talented and exist to solve client issues quickly and efficiently, and to provide the technical, compliance and legal support for all aspects of the industry.
